Thelma F. Matney of Carlyle died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center at the age of 95 years.

Thelma was born in Carmi, Illinois on September 2, 1912, the daughter of George and Louetta (Cameron) Thompson. She married Ernest Matney on April 9, 1949 in Pulaski County, Arkansas and he preceded her in death in 1969.

Thelma and her late husband worked for T. & L. Construction Company in Centralia from 1949 to 1953 and later for Mohawk Construction Company in Carmi from 1954 to 1969. She has resided in Carlyle since 1970. Thelma was of the Methodist faith.
Thelma is survived by many friends.

Friends may visit at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Thursday, June 19, 2008 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Private interment services will be in Dawn of Ages Cemetery in Carmi, Illinois
