Mildred L. Book of Carlyle died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Countryside Manor Nursing Home in Aviston at the age of 75 years. She was born in Chester, Illinois on August 4, 1933 the daughter of Edward and Katherine (Brandt) Foster. Mildred married Harry “Frog” Book on October 29, 1971 in Breese and he passed away on September 18, 2005.

Mildred is survived by 3 sons: Dean (Bonni) Mickelson of Bartelso, Edward “Mike” (Connie) Mickelson of Granite City and Helmer “Teddy” (Michiel) Mickelson Jr. of Joliet; step daughter and son-in-law: Connie and Terry Moore of Bonnie; 3 sisters: Betty (Carl) Tucker of Carlyle, Peggy (Cliff) Wheelan of Breese and Ruth (Dan) Lampe of Breese; 6 grandsons: Wyatt (Sarah) Mickelson, Wade Mickelson, Helmer Mickelson III, Tyson Mickelson Michael Mickelson and Steven Davis; step grandchildren: Jeff and Karen Moore; 8 great grandchildren: Jordyn Mickelson, Hayle Jo Mickelson, Hayden Mickelson, Helmer Mickelson IV, Leland Mickelson, Joseph Mickelson, Leah DeSuza and Ella Davis; and step great grandchildren: Derrick and Dalton Moore.

Mrs. Book enjoyed camping, crafting and taking pictures.
Funeral services will be at St. John’s Church in Breese on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Lisa Hart officiating. The interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Thursday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or on Friday at St. John’s Church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services

Expressions of sympathy may be made in Mildred’s memory to St. John’s Church, Heartland Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
